UNIT 5. The age of majority

Most of the  people are talking about The age of majority, many say that should be at the age of 18 and some say it should be at 21, in fact they all have different opinions about it.


In United States this is one of the most discussed topics, because in many states The age of majority is at the age of 18 and in others it is at 21, so here is my opinion.


For me being an adult means too many things;

- First of all, being  independient.
- It means you can get your own credit card.
- You can get your driver`s license.
-  It means you should be able to get married.
- You are allowed to vote.
- You can drink alcohol.
-  You have to work for living alone and pay many taxes.
- The most important, you have to be as responsible as you can.


Being an adult carries huge reponsibilities and several difficulties, drinking, driving, smoking, working, and moving somewhere away from your family all takes a certain amount of maturity.

In conclusion, i think The globlal  age of majority ought to be at 21, because there are people out there, 16,17,18 and older who  just aren´t  ready enough for taking  responsibilities.

Do it yourself! Do you do your own motorcicle repairs? Well, one day i do it, but at the end was a complete disaster, were engine parts on the floor, after that, when my motorcicle get bad. even to visite a good mechanical, even to change the oil, i go there, like that care of my life and the motorcicle. About Past Perfect. Past Perfect Is a verb tense used to talk about actions that were completed before some point in the past, i mean we use to talk about something that happened before something else. The formula for the Past Perfect tense is ( HAD Plus Past Participle) It does not matter if the subject is singular or plural, the formula does not change Some examples; - When you came here i had left - Before starting my major i had studied a lot - They had gone bofore i reached - When you arrived she had already told me eveything about you - She had not met me when i was in middle school - Before this class Atilano had taught us  - I had told them the truth when he asked me

You can go to the discotec.  As of that age, responsibilities and obligations are acquired. the age of majority grants the person political rights.  Here in dominican Republic when you have a age of majority you can take out an ID.
